MY FAVORITE BOOKSTORES IN MANILA

When we think of bookstores in Metro Manila, three chains immediately come to mind: Fully Booked, National Bookstore, and Power Books. Actually, maybe Goodwill, too. I do go to those bookstores and enjoy my finds from there every now and then (especially Power Books in Podium, and Fully Booked in BGC), but there are other bookstores I really love visiting! Today, let me share with you my favorites (in no particular order) and why!:) 1. ARTBOOKS.PH Located along Pioneer Street, […]

AMAZING COLLAB: SAVE THE CHILDREN ORGANIZATION x VICKS

I was just going to tell you about this amazing partnership between a brand we look up to, and an organization for children that I’d love to work for. Originally, I just wanted to share how we can help others simply by helping our families. But before I share more, I want you to watch this video: I am sorry for that heartbreaking content, but the reality is, well, that’s the reality for others, that’s the truth many children face, […]

MTE FINDS: NURSING CLOTHES (PLUS TIPS!)

From the time I gave birth, I’ve been wanting to talk about nursing wear. I blogged about nursing bras a few months post-birth, but I had such a hard time talking about nursing wear simply because I felt that while there were many stores selling nursing wear, I could only vouch for one local brand — Elin! I wore Elin for most of my trips out of the house early in our nursing days, mostly because it was the only […]

MTE FIND: PAMPERS BABY-DRY REVIEW

As a mom who uses cloth diapers on most days, I admit I have not done much research on disposable diapers before birth. My original plan was to do cloth diapers all the way, except for traveling, but my son came out as a tiny baby, and remained tiny in his first two months. His weight was okay medically speaking, but what I did not foresee was that our universal-sized cloth diapers were too big for him those months, and […]

THE EVOLUTION OF OUR DRINKING GLASSES

In Montessori, infants and young toddlers are encouraged to use glasses from the start. This means no sippy cups, no plastic wares, and no-non-breakable materials for drinking. Why on Earth would you want that? Can babies even handle it? In this blogpost, let me share our experience with our son. But first things first… Maria Montessori advocated using fragile, breakable weaning cups/glasses because this is the way children learn. It’s simple, really – the concept of natural consequence. Yes, there […]

MTE REVIEW: LOOPING TRAVEL STROLLER

Since many of you have been asking me about our travel stroller, I am writing about it. First, a disclaimer: Looping Philippines gave this stroller to us. Prior to this, we were using another travel stroller brand (a lot more expensive and was a gift from my parents-in-law – they bought it in Singapore). Many brands have approached me so we can try out their stroller, but we’ve always declined because we already have one. When Looping approached us though, […]

P’s FIRST YEAR IN PHOTOS

Apart from the photos of the monthly updates I post here for P (where there are too many things surrounding him – a beautiful reminder for us later on what mattered to him that time), my husband and I decided to make a separate shoot for him for the first year of his life – something clean. Good thing my niece showed us a peg – a baby’s growth with a wooden play horse as background. My dad-in-law has a […]

TRAVEL TIP: HOW TO BREASTFEED IN COLD DESTINATIONS

I posted some of our breastfeeding sessions in Paris, France during our recent trip in my Instagram account. This lead me to a lot of private messages from moms asking how I breastfeed Phttps://waldorfmom.net/festivals/advent/?fbclid=IwAR3QFWq5UdC0-R-moH9Rtmi6FJAJlDoKZiTHPHLljamXSJaqXSHQz6qXExI in public using regular clothes and in a place like Paris during fall (transitioning to winter). First, I shared my process HERE on how I dress my son for the cold weather. I do the same for myself – I do a lot of layering. A […]

CLOTH DIAPER STAINS 101

I get a lot of questions about cloth diapers. In our family, this is what works for us: P wears cloth diapers whenever we are at home or just going around the city. However, whenever we are out traveling, we switch to disposable diapers. Diaper space (especially for air travel) is always a challenge, plus the time factor in washing clothes. Speaking of washing, in a gist, a breastfed baby’s stool is usually very easy to clean because it’s mushy/soft, […]

GIFT GUIDE FOR INFANTS, TODDLERS, AND CHILDREN

If you’re following a lot of Montessori blogs/ sites/ social media accounts, you must have read a couple of gift guides for Montessori kids already. Since I don’t have a lot of time to blog regularly, I’ll skip that one first (and try to make my own next time) and blog about what you can gift children in general – no matter what parenting style their parents adhere to. See, before I became a parent, everytime we had to attend […]
