We call it the <em>Color Basket, <\/em>because the materials we need are all in a basket.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MATERIALS:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Different miniatures\/ toys in specific colors you want for your game (I decided to stick with the primary colors)<br \/>\n&#8211; A die (or any cube from your child&#8217;s blocks &#8211; color each side with the colors of your items)<br \/>\n&#8211; A containter (basket, tub, basin &#8212; it&#8217;s up to you!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mamatheexplorer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ColorGameMTE2.jpg\" data-lightbox=\"gal[2786]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2788 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mamatheexplorer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ColorGameMTE2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"655\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mamatheexplorer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ColorGameMTE2.jpg 655w, https:\/\/www.mamatheexplorer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ColorGameMTE2-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>HOW WE PLAY:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>* We roll the die, then choose an item in that color.<br \/>\n* Nobody wins. It&#8217;s just a game of choice and color recognition &#8211; I go for non-competitive games to encourage my child to enjoy the game more than the concept of winning.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">OTHER WAYS YOU CAN PLAY THIS:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>* I-spy!<\/strong> We also love doing this. But for I-spy, I put all sorts of miniatures and not mind the colors. This is great for language!<br \/>\n<strong>* Counting work<\/strong> &#8211; when you&#8217;re done with the pieces, you can count how many <em>blue<\/em> you have, or how many <em>red<\/em>.<br \/>\n<strong>* Guess What I&#8217;m Thinking<\/strong> &#8211; This is a great language game for older children. You can silently choose an item from the basket. Then just give clues. Ex: It&#8217;s yellow. It is used as a tool for carpentry. Then the other one will guess what item you silently picked.<\/p>\n<p>We use our miniatures from <em><strong>Educational Toys Philippines<\/strong><\/em> (available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/TheParentingEmporium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Parenting Emporium<\/strong><\/a>).
